Xeko is a trading-card game designed to educate kids about the planet's ecology and animals. The card collections themselves are missions -- the idea being to "send" kids on adventures around the world. Each card represents endangered animals in select places, like Indonesia. Sometimes, you go on vacation and wish to stay forever. With several million dollars to back up that wish, Sea Island Properties makes it possible.
With The Designory in Long Beach, I worked with UX and the AD to write copy for this rather large resort Web site. And later, followed up with a site for the Island's properties.
With the Strausberg Group in Los Angeles, I worked on a second Marriott-owned boutique hotel in New Orleans. This property was ideally situated a block off Bourbon Street — so this site featured a younger voice, music and animated sequences.
This was the first of two Marriott-property Web sites I worked on with the Strausberg Group in LA. (Soon thereafter, Katrina arrived.) This boutique hotel was particularly well located for tourists seeking the New Orleans arts / museum vibe.
One of a handful of hotel-writing projects from 2005. Here, I invited people to experience the fabulousness (not my word) of The Belamar Hotel in Los Angeles.
